Résumé
Abstract
Fortuitous discovery of ECG anomalies in a manual labourer
Employees presenting with type 2 diabetes should be considered as having high cardiovascular risk. Thus, they should receive the appropriate primary and secondary preventative treatment. Given the unclear nature of the clinical symptoms due to the presence of diabetes, systematic electrocardiograms are useful for the detection of potential ischaemic abnormalities. A more detailed evaluation of cardiological factors should be performed immediately upon detection of such abnormalities, which in many cases can lead to the diagnosis of myocardial ischaemia.
The Tako Tsubo syndrome, directly linked to elevated emotional stress, can manifest, in addition to chest pain, as a set of cardiological symptoms, associated with a contractile episode at the top of the left ventricle contrasting with the absence of stenosis or occlusion of the left coronary artery, as observed by coronography. Heart attacks and the Tako Tsubo syndrome are different diseases with different prognoses, and require different professional and medical approaches. The implementation of a targeted workplace preventative strategy for cardiovascular diseases confirms the benefit of coordinated multidisciplinary medical management.
